Where is the friendly "dude"? This week, I would like to share with you one of my favourite type of photography.
Going to the wrong place, at the wrong time and experiencing the wrong feeling. Visiting abandoned places such as houses, condominiums, parks, construction sites, schools, shoplots... to make it short, I shall just use the word buildings, gives me a new feeling in photography.
Not a common type of photography in my country must be the main reason why i'm doing this - being original too. Friend strongly disagrees to what i'm doing forces me to venture all by myself.
Opening photo - Yesterday night, I was out shooting with my friend, it rainted, no where to go so I decided to bring him to my old school. I have a feeling that it will be a good spot for a couple of shots... not hoping to get anything "special" of course... but even if i did, do I consider myself lucky? Sometimes, I scare myself with shots like this. There might be nothing in this picture but my mind plays with scary imaginations.
Try and have a look whats at the other end in this picture.
I have a blog too you know, click here!

and this is why it's stupid to go to places with no other humans...

Very dramatic picture, well done !

I like your approach very much. It's a very sinister and scary shot, giving plenty of room for my own fantasy. The angle, the blur ... all this adds to this nightmarish atmosphere. Well done!

@KenTh: Yes it is. One of my favourite place to go to. Haha.
Paul - I must say...it is creepy. But I tip my hats to you, brah! Thanks for your continued effort to bring things original - that's inspiring! As for this shot, I agree with Dee. Nice...
Note: bring a tape or MD recorder...B-)

@{H} creatives: Hello Henry, the master of creativity. Thanks so much for ur comment. Yes i want original to be my middle name. No point copying people's work and not bringing anything new into this world of photography. Yeah i shall record audio and video to next time. But how am i going to show it to everyone? LOL. Naa, i think taking photo is already scary enough.
oh,this is a snap shot of my childhood imagination!Very scary and lonely feeling at the corridor,an endless corridor....scary man!

@tyan: Same here. Images like this tend to appear in my mind from time to time when i was younger but now I want to make it a reality. Scary....but thats the one making me stronger in this topic.

Where's the ghost?! Nice shot! The graininess adds to the mystery. Cool. :)

@HorseRotorVator: Its not in the photo. Luckily... LOL. I love grains. Thanks so much.
It reminds me the feeling of film noir or thriller - very good

Good...standing at " ant" angle view always a fantastic shot

@Peng: Yea, the only angle i like when taking shots like this. Just put my camera down on the floor and let the shutter go for a second.

@Mardook: Thanks Mardook.
Freaky...I love it! I go on Ghost Tours during vacations and am waiting for "that" moment that they always talk about ; )
19 Jun 2007 6:23pm
@Jen: Ghost tours? Where? Sounds interesting. I would like to go for one too. No dont wait for "that" moment. You wouldnt want it to happen. Haha.
I share this interest, but it is an interest very difficult to practice around where I live. My biggest fear isn't physical injury, but trespassing charges or having my equipment confiscated. I suppose if I ever find a cheap site that isn't locked and/or guarded (and I haven't yet), I'd have to go in with a cheap camera.
