Dylan Tucker from United StatesI like the coloring on this shot, but the crop seems a bit awkward. I think it's because his head is cut off right at the shoulders, giving the same effect as when you crop and cut a person limb off at a joint. I think if you could see a little bit of his chin, this shot could work really well. 12 Mar 2008 3:56am @Dylan Tucker: Hello Dylan. Shawna from Regina, CanadaI am a fan. love these images. I really like the image from the top of the starirs where his arm looks askew. I am a little demented, I will admit!! :) 12 Mar 2008 4:49am Katie from Morioka, JapanI like how unusual this is! The stairs look like they are falling towards the viewer though. I'm enjoying the processing and the concept. 12 Mar 2008 6:47am @Katie: Hi Katie, thanks so much. Glad ur enjoying it. Wee Kiat from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiaomg. u're a pro, man. love the colour. love the mood. 12 Mar 2008 4:04pm @Wee Kiat: LOL, No, im still learning dude. Just one of my experiments. Thanks so much for the comment. Porcsin from Debrecen, HungaryThe barcode is a good idea! 12 Mar 2008 9:54pm @Porcsin: Yeah the barcode is so important to me when taking this shot. I must include it in this picture. Thanks. Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaThe colour is great and this one is even better with the bisected head. 13 Mar 2008 12:01am Disoriented from Washington, DC, United StatesHey Levine, Yes I've been busy as hell. I had a 3 day job interview that took me over a week to prepare. I just finished and came back home yesterday. I'm extraordinarily exhausted but hopefully I'll get some good news and, of course, back to posting. =D In regards to your latest shot, I think the cropping may work because it has that "crime investigation" effect, of a police detective photographing a crime scene. And the bar code is really interesting because it gives the person a very different identity. Thus I think the cropping of the face works because the identity of the person is not important, but the fact that there's another "body" to be "tagged" and "counted" via bar code. Keep it up Levine! I like the narrative you're working out here. =D 14 Mar 2008 9:56pm @Disoriented: Hey, you whats up? I love the bar code and u know what, its his birth date actually. Thanks so much for ur comment and support. Appreciate it. @Photonscribbles: Yes indeed it is. Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesVery dramatic photo. Definitely dark and mysterious and a bit scary. 20 Mar 2008 12:09pm @Laurie: Thanks. Doing it was kinda scary too. drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomI like this a LOT! I'm glad you updated to the uncropped version. I really like the crop as it stands and I think the sort of serene/happy expression works. The barcode tattoo really makes this shot in my opinion - it helps tell a story. To me it looks like something from a dystopian movie/novel; an attempted escape that has gone wrong, resulting in the death of the hero but, to him, this is still an escape, death is better than the restrictions he felt in life, hence the happy expression. Dan 25 Mar 2008 12:29am Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaThis one jumped out at me. Nice framing, colour proc. Hang this on your kitchen wall 31 Mar 2008 3:32am @Chris Sullivan: Hey, thanks so much. I would love to print my shots but hanging it in the kitchen is not a good idea, my mom will totally disagree.
